Finalizan los Juegos Olímpicos Londres 2012, afortunadamente, los más musicales de toda la historia. Después de la ceremonia de apertura donde destacaron Arctic Monkeys y Paul McCartney, se esperaba una ceremonia de clausura que superara ese nivel. Y ha resultado muy bien. Las actuaciones de Muse, The Who, Queen, Take That, Pet Shop Boys, Madness, entre muchos otros, tanto en el Estadio Olímpico como el paralelo en Hyde Park con nada menos que Blur, New Order y The Specials.

Los grandes ausentes, pues, dificil de decirlo por toda la riqueza de la música británica, pero, para mencionar algunos: The Clash, Radiohead, The Cure, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Pulp, Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Richard Wright, Roger Waters, The Flaming Lips, The Smiths (o Morrisey) y muchos otros más. Al final una buena mezcla de lo clásico y lo nuevo.
